Meet the Team

Alon Bernstein is a passionate boring accountant who has 10 years accounting experience. He enjoys keeping an eye on all things financial and rides a mountain bike on the weekend!

Amy is our assistant accountant, working alongside Xpand's CFO, Alon. Chat to Amy for anything related to billing, invoicing or salaries. Friendly and humorous, Amy is always happy to help; she thrives on finding answers and keeping the books tidy! Focused and always busy crunching numbers, she’s serious during the work week – you’ll find Amy at her desk with a calculator and excel spreadsheet or in the gym with some boxing gloves. Of a weekend though, expect to see Amy having a coffee with friends, shopping up a storm or out on the town dancing the night away!

With as many nicknames as Charlie Sheen has public melt downs Bryony is an integral part of the Marketing and Digital team.  Prone to clumsiness with her over-active hand gestures, her energetic attitude and cheeky sense of humour can always be relied upon to keep her fellow Xpanders smiling. 

Jordan is our resident fisherman, every Monday he brings a new set of pictures and stories of the weekends adventures. He’s been here for an eternity, he recruits Infrastructure roles and looks after the Technical recruitment team.

With more front that your average door, Laura Ford is arguably Xpand's straightest shooter! (NB Fordy is rather partial to the odd bit of sarcasm and irony.) When she's not hypnotising you with her inappropriate MJ dance moves or serenading you on the guitar, you'll find Fordy knee deep in all things Vendor Sales related.

Martin is the token Irish guy in the office, hailing from the beautiful County Wicklow aka The Garden of Ireland. He maintains that he arrived in Sydney legitimately and that the rumors of the prison ship are untrue. Widely acknowledged as the office computer nerd he has a background as a coder before moving into the world of technology recruitment. He is passionate about Manchester United, Fantasy Football and Leinster Rugby and has a terrible taste in music.

Rebecca is the ultimate online shopping guru, lover of all things Sport related and old school hip-hop.  She is known for her direct and meticulous recruitment approach and has developed an unrivalled knowledge of the Infrastructure market.

Tom has more hair than wit; generally in the Bondi office; try him on his mobile or call Motion and ask for him at the bar.

Joyce joined Xpand in August 2010, to strengthen our PR division. Just when Joyce was about to turn 30, she decided to make a career switch from PR - an industry that she'd grown familiar with since university days - to recruitment. Having spent over 6 years in PR, she hoped to fully leverage her knowledge to match make clients and candidates. It's her goal to become the go-to recruiter for all PR professionals in Singapore. Her ex-colleagues used to call her the "Queen of work-life balance" because of her belief in the need to relax by indulging her personal interests, which gets her charged up and ready for work! As well as enjoying winding down over a glass of wine with close friends, Joyce loves roller-coaster rides and horror movies, but she's terrified of butterflies and is terrible with anything to do with wheels (cycling, roller blading and driving included!)

Kathryn is our Practice Lead for Public Relations, and has nine years' recruitment experience, with the past 7 spent recruiting for the PR sector in the UK, Australia and Asia. Kathryn was responsible for setting up the PR recruitment practice here at Xpand, which started in Singapore in 2009 and now covers Australia and key Asian markets. Her focus is on working with top tier candidates for our top tier clients and she is always on the lookout for talented PR practitioners from agency or in-house - covering all levels and industry sectors. Kathryn loves taking on challenges outside of work, running the London marathon and climbing to Everest Base Camp for charity over the last few years. Now she lives in SE Asia she is discovering all things beachy and this year she has tried wake boarding, flow riding and diving for the first time.

After spending 8 years in the digital technology industry, Lip Teck chose to switch to recruitment more than 3 years ago. For him it made sense to stay in the same vertical as he enjoys the industry, speaks the lingo and understands the people. (It also helps that talented individuals with great skills and experiences are absolutely cool to hang out with!) An internet and technology fan, Lip Teck is not yet a geek, but straying dangerously close. He's a highly-skilled pixel-slayer, deadly with a keyboard and mouse and stays up late every night mixing drinks... His baby likes her milk lukewarm! Lip Teck lives and breathes his work. In his words it is the best job in the world. And no, you can't have his job, but he may have one for you!

Liz has six years recruitment experience across a diverse variety of industries; IT, Engineering and Oil & Gas. She moved to Singapore in February 2009 and was responsible for setting up multiple new divisions in her previous company, including a successful new venture in the Singapore market, before joining Xpand in September 2010. Liz can speak both Italian and Spanish, which is not so useful living in Singapore, but it makes her happy! Her claim to fame is that she once appeared on the Ricky Lake show (in the audience, we hasten to add!) whilst backpacking round the USA. Liz is passionate about recruiting, and in her own words prides herself on providing a high level of service to both clients and job seekers alike.

PJ was born in the jungles of Sarawak, Borneo - Land of Hornbills and Headhunters.  These days a corporate recruiter in Technology, Media and Communications, she enjoys the simple honest pleasures of life.  Nothing makes her smile like fresh flowers, clear sunny days, and chilled Sauvignon Blanc.

Riley is always in awe of how the internet lets him keep up with everything from world affairs to popular culture and brings his appetite for leaning to the Media and Communications team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends, has a penchant for visual arts and keeps fit with capoeria. Riley also prides himself on his love for dark humour; entertaining himself with episodes of Dexter and Californication - parental guidance is definitely needed!

Rina did what she was expected to do; she took a job that was relevant to her university degree and spent the first 2 years of her career in PR. She packed her bags and moved to Singapore and by chance stumbled upon recruitment and it has been an ongoing relationship for the last 4 years! She joined Xpand in 2011 as part of the Media and Communications team covering roles within Digital Media from mid to senior levels in the region.  Outside of work, Rina has two great loves- travel and food! She loves visiting new cities and savoring different cuisines around the world. An avid cook, she spends every Sunday stirring up new recipes and hopes to one day enroll in Le Cordon Bleu in Paris majoring in Gastronomy!
