Xpand's Toy Drive for The Pyjama Foundation

24th Dec 2014

There are only 2 sleeps until Santa starts his rounds and here at Xpand, we have been helping him out by running a toy drive on behalf of The Pyjama Foundation.

We at Xpand are staunch supporters of this amazing organisation that was founded in 2004 with the aim of providing support to the foster care community by offering a learning-based mentoring program free of charge for children in care, delivered by volunteer Pyjama Angels. (See our previous blog post on the Pyjama Foundation for a more detailed background on their invaluable work.)

Most of us are fortunate enough to have friends and family with whom to give and receive presents with on this special day. However, there are 39,000 children in foster care in Australia who have been displaced from their original homes and are in various stages of being integrated into new ones. This can be a tough time for them and many are not in a situation where they receive gifts to open on Christmas morning. This is why The Pyjama Foundation undertakes its annual toy drive and we here at Xpand are more than happy to get involved and help out.

This afternoon at Xpand's Sydney office we were fortunate enough to have Sue Turk, Group COO of the Rubicor Group, help handover a bumper sack of gifts to Adrian Steer from The Pyjama Foundation. We hope Adrian will manage to get them to Santa on time!

I'd like to thank Xpand's clients, contactors and staff for contributing to the toy drive this year.
