The Inaugural X:ED in Hong Kong

2nd Apr 2016

That’s it, we are officially grown-ups among the Xpand offices… We had our first X:ED event last week in Hong Kong, and it went really well.

We, at Xpand, enjoy being embedded into our industries and giving back, through sponsoring, attending and organizing interesting events. It’s in our DNA to give back, as much as we can, and we actually love it.

We hosted the event in the funky Hive in Wanchai, on the top floor. Food and drinks were available on the rooftop terrace, and we had the inside room set up for a panel discussion and a Q&As session.

And the room was… completely full! We were expecting c. 60 people and we ended up having nearly 80. Great turnout, and quality one as well, with a number of top executives from corporates, banks, consulting firms, digital agencies, etc., as well as a solid representation from the fast-growing start-ups community in HK.

Oh, yes, the topic… Given the fact that it was our first one in HK, we wanted to keep that fairly broad and interesting for both tech and digital crowds. We went for the convergence of the CMO and CIO functions, with the digital transformation in the middle of everything.

The panel was composed of Karen Farzam, Simon Squibb, Guy Parsonage and Zaheer Nooruddin. All being frequent public speakers, the discussion went along nicely, and we were pleased to see a lot of engagement from the audience during the Q&As session. And we ended up the evening on a “beer and pizza” note… perfect night!

Looking forward to our next X:ED event soon!
