PokÃ©mon GO is the biggest mobile game in U.S. history, claiming top place on the App Store the day it was released. Within 24 hours PokÃ©mon GO beat out Supercell's heavily promoted Clash Royale to become the biggest game of 2016, as measured by daily active users.
Within three days of its release, PokÃ©mon GO attracted more users than Twitter, earning millions of dollars a day for its publisher, Niantic.
So what does the success of PokÃ©mon GO mean for augmented reality? Could other apps replicate such success or was it more so because of the brand?
