What’s your current role Kausty and what does it involve?

For the last 3 years I've been working at Xpand as a Talent Manager focusing on Client Services, Account Management and Business Development area of Digital Media. I'm now working in a hybrid role - an Account Manager across a Giant Online Tech Client's Contract portfolio and a 360 Consultant across a diverse set of clients ranging from start-ups to digital agencies to reputed advertising firms and established publishers in the Sydney market.

Which industry or sector does your area cover?

Everything and anything that’s Digital and Media –
Search Engine Marketers - SEO, SEM, PPC, Search Managers, Performance Managers & Directors
Social Media Marketers - SMM, SMO, SM Managers & Directors
Account Management - Account Managers, Senior Account Mangers & Directors
Strategists & Planners
Digital Planner / Buyers
Sales - Lead Generation, Inside Sales, Business Development & Inbound/Outbound sales

What kind of clients do you/have you worked with?

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some reputed companies across the Sydney market – from Google to Facebook to Digital agencies across WPP and Publicis to clients like Foxtel, eBay, Gumtree, ServiceNow and more.

What’s the trickiest sector to recruit for and why?

Search, Programmatic and Digital Planner / Buyers – it’s a very candidate short market and with the new Visa restrictions in place, it’s become tougher to find candidates with the right skills and aptitude, especially for the Digital Agencies in Sydney.

What’s been the best story for you this year?

That would be for one of my key clients – I had a candidate who interviewed for a role in Sydney with their team, they were so impressed with her that they actually offered her a role in Singapore – paying for everything from relocation to flights to putting her up in an apartment for 3 months and a hefty salary increase – needless to say the candidate accepted!

Do you have anything you would like to achieve next year?

Keep sourcing for strong candidates and placing them across the key clients we work with. I definitely want to attend more Industry events, since for the past few years my focus has been on sourcing and delivery. This year I want to include Networking as another aspect of my KPI’s.

Tell me something funny about your career

This is my first ever job in Recruitment – my past roles have all been in Digital and Media and I never used a recruiter when I was on the other side! Now I’m a Digital & Media recruiter looking after the same sectors I used to work within and absolutely love it – Déjà vu with a twist!!

Who is your role model?

I know I’m being hackneyed here – but that’ll be my Dad – taught me the value of hard work and fighting for what you believe in!

What would you be doing if you weren't in recruitment?

Couch potato (I’m sure it’s a profession somewhere!!)
