A brief description of your career history?
Been in recruitment for over 6 years always specialising in Information Technology and can honestly say I have worked with some of the most talented candidates in the industry.
What makes you ‘now’ in technology?
I can honestly say I have a passion for Technology, I enjoy learning about the innovation and changing landscape of the IT Industry. I stay up to date by following a number of blogs and show a particular interest in the changes across the Digital Payments Industry.
What gets you out of bed on a Monday morning?
My alarm after several hits on the snooze button…
What do you see as the next big game changer within the Digital Media and Technology industry?
I think Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality will become more entrenched in our everyday life. It’s exciting to see over a short period of time how self driven cars, virtual reality and hologram technologies have jumped from futuristic ideas to a tangible reality… still waiting on my hover board and jet pack though…
You call yourself a specialist. Why?
Having run my own business previously and having an Entrepreneurship degree I have always had an interest in how business and technology intersect. I can talk with confidence not just at a technical level, but how it impacts business around improving processes, reducing costs and creating new communication platforms internally and externally improving overall customer experience.
What is your greatest achievement?
Hard question to answer. I was recognised for an Innovative Business Plan competition and competed at a national level finishing in the top 10 and went on to present our business ideas to an impressive panel consisting of Blackberry and Microsoft executives. It was an amazing opportunity and combined all my passions across IT and Entrepreneurship.
What is the best thing about your role?
I think I enjoy learning about the in depth long term strategies of a company and seeing how integral the people are to that strategy, knowing that I will play a big part in those changes. That and the feeling you get when you know you helped someone land their dream job.
When you were a child, what did you want to be?
Depends on how far back you go… first I wanted to be a monkey, when I learned that wasn’t going to be possible I set my sights on being a professional baseball player.
